Greetings Everyone... Got a few questions that I would love your take on the discussion... Here goes...

Can somebody tell me what's going on? Have we the people became so angey and blind to the reality that we are in the midst of a civil war? We are fighting, killing and hating more on each other daily opposed to being our brothers keeper. Where is the love? 

The photo above is the photo of a 16 year old young man that was shot twice because he was at the wrong home address. He was there to pick up his brothers, but instead he was shot. Really... Please explain the justification for this...

What actually transpired to cause the man to shot Ralph Yarl. A ciirizen that looked like him. The only difference between the two were one had a darker skin tone, and the age. One was 84 and the other was 16...

 Are we going to ever going to graduate from the color of someone's skin and  their gender?

Can we just take a couple of steps back and look at the entire picture. Not only are we huting the victim, but we are also hurting the families of the victim (s). Oh yeah, and lets not forget that we are causing ourselves pain mentally... Surely, we have some form of compassion for others and ourselves.

Greetings Everyone....

So, I recieved a video on yesterday concerning a student and a teacher havin a little brawl.

 This all steamed from a student whose phone was taken from her.  The student became angry and took action  into taking the phone from the teacher.

 Well, one thing led to another. Needless to say it got out of control.

 The student and the teacher are on the floor. The teacher has managed to pinn the student down and ask a student to go get a teacher. 

 Well, no one moved right away, instead they chose to make a video!!! Really!!! Are you serious? Have we become soo angry and desperate for 25 seconds of fame that instead of getting help, we rather record and see how many views, likes, and shares we receive instead of doing the right thing?...

During my era, RESPECT was a rule. Where has it gone? Have we become a people of hate that we are no longer concerned about "being our brothers keeper"? This really hurts. I mean really hurt 🤕

April 17... Let's Pray

Greetings Everyone...

On last week we discussed gun violence and how important that we the people stand up and fight against the will of others that freely purchase/ use weapons to cause danger to others.

With this , there was a viewer that stated that we should just pray to God and for  each other. Now don't misunderstand I am a woman of prayer. I am not stating by no means that we dont need to pray, but in the process of praying we need to come together and make our voices heard. Prayer is like faith... Whenever we seek to do or achieve something, we pray, and once we pray , we believe, and when believing , we put faith into works. Faith is believing. Prayer is believing. Therefore, we must pray but along with prayer we must use faith which requires action. Faith without works is dead... We must do something along with the prayers.

Oftentimes we say "we are going to wait on God" . Waiting on God does not mean just sitting still. It means trusting and serving God for deliverance of our prayers being petitioned, while doing something...

                           Think about it...

 What's Going On... Marvin Gaye

Just recently in the state of NC a law was passed that citizens no longer need a permit to purchase a handgun. Yes, we are still required to have a background check, but still... The mere fact that anyone within the required age limit has permission to purchase a weapon... What's going on?

Have we not seen the severity's of what happens when a deadly weapon is placed in the hands of someone that has a moment of anger? When and how can this law be reversed? There are too many of our loved ones being killed due to gun violence.

 Case and point... Just a week ago, here in NC a 14 year old student carried a gun to school in his backpack. He never fired the weapon intentionally, but while on the bus going home, the gun went off and injured another student. My questions are...#1, why does a 14 old have possession of a handgun on school premises, and #2... what changes are we willing to change and protect our citizens? Truly it is high time for us to come together and possibly get a grip on these types of tragedies.

Everyday we learn of tragedies occuring in the US.How many more tragedies must occur before we begin to make changes a thing of our future...

Well, we are again feeling sorrowful. Another shooting has taken place. My my my. Will this ever end or is this the beginning of the end.

Just the orher day, five people lost their lives by the hands of someone that became angry over possible termination from  his job. Truly, we must begin to take a stand and begin to exercise our rights as citizens. Gun violence is on a rampage.... Everyday we learn of someone dearh caused by gun violence.

As Teddy Pendegrass says "the world won't get no better if we just let it be, we've got to change it both you and me". S Very true... There's confusion in Russia, China, Ukraine, Israel, and distraction from the past president. When is enough, Enough?

Sadly enough...

We have several family members experiencing many forms of emotional mindsets. Some are sad, angry, confused, crying, and the list goes on. There are no amount of words that can describe the grief each individual family member is experiencing. Not only for the victims family, but also the family members of the shooter. They too are  hurting deeply due to the missing of a son, brother, coworker, best friend, and so fort. At the end of the day, regardless of what the side of the fence we are on. Pain is pain ...

So, as we continue to pray for the victims family members, let's also pray for the family members of the shooter... 

Change must begin... And this kind change begins with us. Have a wonderful, safe Wednesday....

Greetings everyone and welcome to Let's Talk About It with Valerie where we discuss real talk, real issues, pertaining to everyday life. 

Previously we open up the discussion concerning redefining life and accessing the resurrecting power that lives within each of us. So with that being said I want to just talk briefly about how we can begin the journey. 

 ... Quick question: has there ever been a time in your life when you tapped out of you? I mean let's just be honest,  have you ever not liked you at some point in your life? Now for those of you that can honestly say you never have, give yourself a round of applause and remind yourself that although it sounds good, its not true. Why do I say that... Its simple... Whether it was in our physical or a choice that wasn't pleasant, it was a moments where we were not fully tapped into ourselves. And that's cool.  As Jeffrey Osborne says in his  melody.. "I'm only human so don't ask me for too much too fast"...

 As long as we live here in Earth we will at some point   dislike ourselves due to the choices that we may decide to make on this journey of life... My only suggestion to us is that we don't get stuck. When you realize that you made a bad choice, by all means learn from it and continue to move forward. That's another part of learning how to love yourself. Learning to appreciate mistakes and still be productive by simply moving forward. And with all that being said I want you to continue to operate in your resurrecting power and remind yourself daily of this thought... if not now, then when ?

April 3... Depression Cont...

Greetings Everyone...

🎶"We are family, I got all my sisters with me"

            We Are Family... Sister Sledge

Well, we are approaching the closing of another month... WOW....

Today I want to continue discussing depression and how it may affect others. Again I say, depression is real.

As much as many of us may not want to accept it, the reality is that it is real. 

How do I know? Been there and believe me, its not something that is easily shaken. It takes time and a lot of will power to overcome something as serious as this. I can recall a time when I was in a session with other peers and someone stated that their life would be better if they were dead... My instant response was"how can you possibly know that your life will be better if you were dead"?... Have you died before? Crazy question, but legit...  The individual looked at me and said these words, "I died 5 years ago mentally, but today, your question, has made me realize that dead people don't know anything and since I'm not dead I can do things differently by changing my thoughts ".... We celebrated!!!

GLORY!!! Hallelujah... That was and still is a refreshing moment in time.

We are still in contact with each other. The individual has been married for 5 years, they have 2 children, and  their own Mental Health Organization. To God Be the Glory!!! 

Sometimes all it takes is a simple crazy question to persuade others to reconsider their views on certain things on the journey called LIFE...

                                  Enough said...
